Morgantown Mega Card Fest to Bring Nearly 300 Vendor Tables to Mylan Park

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Thousands of sports cards, Pokémon cards and collectibles will fill Mylan Park this weekend as the WV Card Show hosts its largest two-day event to date.

The Morgantown Mega Card Fest will be held Saturday and Sunday, July 18 and 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hazel and J.W. Ruby Community Center. Admission and parking are free.

Nearly 300 vendor tables are expected to feature sports cards, Pokémon and other trading card games, memorabilia, collectibles, 3D-printed items and other hobby-related merchandise.

Visitors will be able to browse the displays, purchase items, bring cards to sell or trade and speak with vendors and other collectors.

While a room filled with hundreds of tables and thousands of cards may initially seem overwhelming, organizers are promoting the show as an event for experienced collectors, families and people who are simply interested in learning more about the hobby.

First-time visitors do not need an expensive collection or detailed knowledge of card values to participate. They can search for cards featuring a favorite player or team, explore Pokémon collections, learn about different types of collectibles or simply walk through the show and see what catches their attention.

The event will also feature more than $3,000 in sports card and Pokémon giveaways.

The first 50 children entering the show on both Saturday and Sunday will receive a free sports or Pokémon card pack. Visitors can also enter the show’s general giveaways at the WV Card Show welcome table. Winners do not need to remain at the event and will be contacted if their name is selected.

A separate trade night will be held Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission to trade night is also free.

The evening session will provide collectors with another opportunity to buy, sell and trade directly with other hobbyists in a more relaxed setting following the first day of the show.

Organizers recommend that visitors ask vendors before handling cards or other merchandise. Guests should also avoid placing phones, drinks or personal cards on vendor tables or display cases without permission. Children are required to remain with an accompanying adult.

WV Card Show was created through BTuck Promotions after organizer Brady Tucker returned to West Virginia and recognized a need for additional sports card and Pokémon events in North Central West Virginia.

The organization says growing attendance at its shows has demonstrated continued regional interest in card collecting and in opportunities for collectors to meet, trade and share the hobby with others.

The Hazel and J.W. Ruby Community Center is located at 111 Mylan Park Lane in Morgantown.
