Harrison County Set For Busy Fall Weekend With Concert, Festivals, Aviation Expo And Winterfest Pageant
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Harrison County is heading into a busy fall weekend, with a major country concert, multiple family festivals, an aviation expo and the annual Clarksburg Winterfest Pageant all scheduled over the next several days.
The weekend gets an early start Thursday night when 1990s country group Little Texas performs at the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center in downtown Clarksburg.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. Little Texas is known for hits including “God Blessed Texas,” “What Might Have Been,” “My Love” and “Amy’s Back in Austin.” Tickets remain available through the Robinson Grand.
Saturday will be especially busy, with several events happening across Harrison County.
The 6th Annual Carl Hopkins West Virginia Youth Aviation Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Bridge Sports Complex in Bridgeport.
The free event is designed to introduce young people to aviation and related careers through hands-on activities including drones, remote-control aircraft, flight simulators, model rocket launches and other demonstrations.
The Almost Heaven LEGO Brick Bash is also scheduled at The Bridge during the aviation expo, giving families another activity at the complex Saturday.
Back in Clarksburg, Harrison County Parks and Recreation will host Once Upon an Autumn Faire from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Harrison County Recreational Grounds on Recreation Drive.
The one-day fantasy-themed event will feature vendors, artisans, live entertainment and activities spread across themed areas of the park. Plans include knights, fairies, demonstrations, arts and crafts, a petting zoo, bounce houses, food vendors and a touch-a-truck area.
Another large family event will be underway across town at Veterans Memorial Park.
The 2026 Fall Family Fun Fest runs from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and will feature local vendors and small businesses, food trucks, family activities, games, fall photo opportunities, pumpkin painting and live entertainment.
Admission is free. An optional all-day wristband for the Inflatable Adventure Zone will cost $10, and the festival will close with a Glow Hour from 6 to 8 p.m.
Downtown Clarksburg will also begin looking ahead toward the Christmas season Saturday as the Clarksburg Winterfest Pageant returns to the Robinson Grand.
The pageant is divided into two performances, with the Little and Junior Miss divisions beginning at 11 a.m. and the Preteen, Teen and Queen divisions beginning at 6 p.m. General admission tickets are $15 for each performance.
The pageant crowns the titleholders who will represent and promote Clarksburg Winterfest throughout the year and take part in the city's annual Winterfest celebration later this year.
With activities stretching from downtown Clarksburg to Bridgeport and the Harrison County recreational grounds, residents will have several options to choose from as the fall event season gets underway across north-central West Virginia.
