Wheeling Symphony Orchestra Returns to Clarksburg for Annual Patriotic Concert

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Patriotic music filled the Clarksburg Amphitheater on Thursday evening as the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra returned for its annual Independence Day concert, bringing residents from across North Central West Virginia together for one of the community's favorite summer traditions.

The free performance at Veterans Memorial Park featured a program of patriotic favorites and American classics as families gathered to celebrate the holiday weekend.

The concert has become a longstanding part of Clarksburg's Independence Day celebration, offering the community an opportunity to experience a professional orchestral performance in an outdoor setting. This year's event was also part of West Virginia's America250 celebration, commemorating the nation's 250th anniversary.

Before the orchestra took the stage, West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey welcomed attendees during a stop in Clarksburg as part of his statewide America250 tour.

The annual performance is made possible through the continued support of the Cultural Foundation of Harrison County, whose partnership has helped keep this community tradition alive for generations.
