West Virginia Football Announces Promotional Schedule for 2026 Home Season
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia Football has announced its promotional schedule for the 2026 home season, giving Mountaineer fans a first look at the themed game days that will accompany each of the Mountaineers' seven home contests at Milan Puskar Stadium this fall.
The lineup includes several fan-favorite traditions that have become staples of the game-day experience in Morgantown, including Gold Rush, Coal Rush, Stripe the Stadium, Heroes Day, and Senior Day, along with Coca-Cola Family Day and a special opening weekend celebration honoring one of the greatest players in program history.

- Sept. 5 vs. Coastal Carolina — All White for 5 (Pat White Jersey Retirement)
- Sept. 12 vs. UT Martin — Coca-Cola Family Day
- Sept. 26 vs. Oklahoma State — Gold Rush
- Oct. 10 vs. Arizona — Coal Rush and WVU Sports Hall of Fame Weekend
- Oct. 17 vs. Cincinnati — Homecoming and Stripe the Stadium
- Nov. 14 vs. Kansas — Heroes Day (Mountaineer Week)
- Nov. 21 vs. Houston — Senior Day and Gold and Blue Gratitude
The season opens on Saturday, Sept. 5, when West Virginia hosts Coastal Carolina. Fans are encouraged to wear white as part of "All White for 5", a tribute to legendary Mountaineer quarterback Pat White, whose No. 5 jersey will be officially retired during the home opener.
The Mountaineers return to Milan Puskar Stadium the following week on Sept. 12 to face UT Martin for Coca-Cola Family Day before opening Big 12 Conference play against Oklahoma State on Sept. 26 during the annual Gold Rush, when fans are encouraged to wear gold.
West Virginia will then welcome Arizona on Oct. 10 for Coal Rush, a tradition celebrating the state's coal heritage that also coincides with WVU Sports Hall of Fame Weekend. One week later, on Oct. 17, the Mountaineers host Cincinnati for Homecoming and Stripe the Stadium, with fans wearing either gold or blue based on their seating section to create one of the most recognizable atmospheres in college football.
The home schedule concludes with Heroes Day during Mountaineer Week against Kansas on Nov. 14, honoring current and former members of the military, followed by Senior Day and Gold and Blue Gratitude when Houston visits Morgantown on Nov. 21 for the final home game of the regular season.
The 2026 campaign marks the second season of Rich Rodriguez's return as head coach and features seven home games, giving Mountaineer fans plenty of opportunities to take part in some of college football's most recognizable game-day traditions.
Whether it's filling the stadium with gold, creating the iconic blue-and-gold pattern during Stripe the Stadium, or celebrating the program's senior class in the regular-season home finale, the 2026 promotional schedule once again offers fans a variety of traditions that have become synonymous with fall Saturdays in Morgantown.
