United Way’s ‘Drool at the Pool’ Set for August at VA Park Splash Zone
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The final weeks of summer are going to the dogs as the United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties prepares to bring “Drool at the Pool” back to Clarksburg.
The dog-friendly fundraiser will be held Sunday, Aug. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the VA Park Splash Zone. The event is hosted by the United Way in partnership with City Parks of Clarksburg.
Dogs will be given exclusive time in the pool before the facility closes for the summer season. Admission is $10 per dog and includes one adult handler. Additional guests may attend for a $5 donation, while children ages 12 and older are also welcome with a $5 donation and must be accompanied by an adult handler.
People will be permitted to enter and walk in the water to assist their dogs but will not be allowed to swim. Volunteer lifeguards will be on duty, and the event will be held weather permitting.
The event follows a successful first year that brought more than 110 dogs and more than 200 people to the Splash Zone.
Proceeds from Drool at the Pool will support United Way programs and partner agencies serving individuals and families throughout Harrison and Doddridge counties.
Participants are encouraged to register and complete the required waiver in advance to reduce wait times on the day of the event.
