The Beauty Loft Marks a New Chapter in Clarksburg With Grand Opening Weekend

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — After spending the past few months serving clients, preparing its space and building the foundation of the business, The Beauty Loft is now marking its public launch in Clarksburg.

The salon and spa, located at 616 W. Pike Street, celebrated Thursday morning with a ribbon cutting alongside members of the Harrison County Chamber of Commerce, family, friends and supporters.

Co owners Jessica Robertson and Erica Atkinson were welcomed during the ceremony by Clarksburg Mayor Wayne Worth and State Senator Ben Queen.

The celebration will continue Saturday, July 11, when The Beauty Loft hosts a grand opening from noon to 4 p.m. The event will include giveaways, specials and treats, with walk ins welcome. The business offers hair, nail and lash services.

For Robertson and Atkinson, who are also mother in law and daughter in law, the business is the result of conversations that began years before The Beauty Loft became a reality.

Atkinson said that when she first started beauty school, she and Robertson often talked about one day opening a salon together. Now, at 25 years old, she has seen that goal become a reality much earlier than she once imagined.

Robertson brings more than two decades of experience in the beauty industry to the new Clarksburg business. She attended nail school in 2000 and has served clients for more than 22 years.

For the past 20 years, Robertson has also owned Amazing Acrylics LLC in Arnoldsburg, Calhoun County. The Beauty Loft represents a new chapter in that career and a new business venture with her daughter in law.

Atkinson has been a licensed cosmetologist for a little more than two years, though her experience with hair and makeup began long before she earned her license.

She said years of competing in pageants helped shape her interest in beauty while also teaching her about confidence, public speaking and building relationships.

Inside The Beauty Loft, Atkinson operates The Glam Room, her private salon. She provides hair services, pedicures and facial waxing, with a focus on blonding, custom color and precision haircuts.

The larger vision for The Beauty Loft extends beyond its two owners.

Robertson said she wanted to create a space where beauty professionals could grow and build careers of their own, while giving clients a place where they feel beautiful, confident and cared for.

After several months of serving clients and getting the business established, this week’s ribbon cutting and grand opening mark a more public beginning for The Beauty Loft.

Robertson and Atkinson credited their families, friends and clients for supporting the venture. They also thanked Level Up, Revenge Beauty, Clear Mountain Bank and the City of Clarksburg for helping make the business possible.

The Beauty Loft’s grand opening will be held Saturday, July 11, from noon to 4 p.m. at 616 W. Pike Street in Clarksburg. The event is open to the public, and walk ins are welcome.
