PHOTOS: Veterans Receive Warm Welcome Home in Downtown Clarksburg Following Washington Trip

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — There were hugs, applause, waving flags, and emotional reunions Sunday as veterans from across North Central West Virginia returned home to downtown Clarksburg following a trip to Washington, D.C.

Supporters gathered outside the local VFW to welcome the group back, creating a meaningful moment of appreciation as veterans stepped off the bus and were greeted by family members, friends, and community members.

The return highlighted the community’s continued commitment to honoring those who served and recognizing the sacrifices made by veterans across generations. Moments throughout the afternoon reflected both celebration and gratitude as attendees took time to thank veterans for their service and hear stories from the trip.

For many in attendance, the event served as another reminder of the importance of ensuring veterans know their service continues to be remembered and appreciated long after their time in uniform.
