Jersey Mike’s Nears Bridgeport Opening as Sandwich Chain Continues Rapid Growth
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — Jersey Mike’s appears to be moving closer to opening its first Bridgeport restaurant as the rapidly growing sandwich chain prepares for a major transition nationally.
A new Jersey Mike’s sign has now been installed at the company’s future location in the White Oaks area, providing the most visible indication yet that work on the restaurant is advancing.
The restaurant is planned for 25 Sweetbrier Lane, Suite 102, in White Oaks Business Park.
Jersey Mike’s continues to list the Bridgeport restaurant as “In Development” on its official website. The company has not announced an opening date, but the installation of exterior signage marks another step toward welcoming customers.
The restaurant will become the first Jersey Mike’s inside Bridgeport city limits and the company’s second location in Harrison County. Jersey Mike’s already operates a restaurant at 270 Emily Drive in Clarksburg’s Eastpointe Shopping Center.
The local expansion comes as Jersey Mike’s continues growing into one of the country’s largest sandwich chains and moves closer to becoming a publicly traded company.
Jersey Mike’s filed paperwork with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on July 2 for an initial public offering. The company has since established a proposed price range of between $21 and $25 per share for an offering that could raise as much as $1.09 billion and value the company at nearly $8 billion.
The company plans to list its shares on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “JMKE.” A final share price and trading date had not been announced as of publication.
The planned Wall Street debut follows years of rapid growth for the New Jersey-based company.
Jersey Mike’s reported more than 3,300 restaurants across the United States and Canada, with locations operating in all 50 states. Nearly all of the company’s restaurants are independently owned and operated by franchisees.
The chain reported approximately $4.3 billion in systemwide sales during 2025, an increase of 13 percent over the previous year. Jersey Mike’s also reported 20 consecutive years of positive same-store sales growth.
Company leaders believe the brand still has significant room to expand in the United States while also beginning a larger international push. Jersey Mike’s has entered into development agreements for hundreds of restaurants in Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Private equity firm Blackstone acquired a majority ownership interest in Jersey Mike’s in 2025. Founder Peter Cancro, who purchased the original Mike’s Subs restaurant in New Jersey when he was 17, remains involved with the company as chairman.
For Harrison County customers, the company’s national financial plans are now unfolding alongside visible progress at White Oaks.
Although an official opening date has not been released, the new sign confirms that the Jersey Mike’s name will soon join the growing collection of restaurants and businesses operating in the Bridgeport development.
