Hampshire Defeats Robert C. Byrd, Forces Winner Take All Regional Final

NUTTER FORT, W.Va. — Hampshire extended its season Thursday evening with a 7-5 victory over Robert C. Byrd at Frank Loria Memorial Field in Class AAA Region II Tournament action.

The regional contest featured key moments on both sides as Hampshire capitalized late to earn the win and keep its postseason run alive. Robert C. Byrd battled throughout the evening and remained within reach, but Hampshire closed out the victory to set up one final meeting between the two teams.

With the result, the regional championship will now come down to a winner take all game Friday, with the victor earning a spot in the West Virginia State Baseball Tournament.
