FBI CJIS hosts annual memorial ceremony honoring fallen West Virginia law enforcement officers

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Members of the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services Division joined local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies Thursday for the annual Memorial Ceremony in Honor of Fallen West Virginia Law Enforcement Officers.

Held annually on the FBI CJIS Division campus in Clarksburg since 1995, the ceremony honors West Virginia law enforcement officers and FBI agents who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Officers, agency leaders, families, and community members gathered for the solemn event to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who dedicated their lives to public service and protecting others. The ceremony included moments of remembrance and recognition for those whose commitment and service continue to leave a lasting impact on communities across the state.

According to the FBI, the annual memorial serves as an ongoing reminder of the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers and agents who gave their lives while serving and protecting others.

This year’s ceremony recognized 341 fallen West Virginia law enforcement officers and FBI agents, honoring their service and preserving their legacy for future generations.
