FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Fairmont State University continues to see positive momentum in student success and enrollment, according to an update presented this week to the university's Board of Governors.

According to reporting by MetroNews, university officials said first-to-second-year student retention has climbed above 70 percent, while freshman applications and student deposits for the upcoming fall semester are running ahead of last year's pace. University leaders also highlighted continued growth in out-of-state student interest and noted that this year's graduating class was the university's largest since 2021.

Additional updates during the meeting included discussions on campus development projects and the university's outlook for the coming academic year.
