EMS Week 2026: Harrison County Emergency Squad Celebrates 60 Years of Service to the Community

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. — As communities across the country recognize Emergency Medical Services Week, members of the Harrison County Emergency Squad are taking time to celebrate the people behind the calls while reflecting on six decades of service to North Central West Virginia.

For Harrison County Emergency Squad, EMS Week is more than a celebration. It is an opportunity to recognize the paramedics, EMTs, support staff, leadership teams, and public safety partners who work around the clock to respond when emergencies happen and seconds matter.

Whether responding to critical incidents, providing advanced medical care during transport, supporting community outreach efforts, or standing ready for unexpected emergencies, EMS professionals remain one of the most visible and trusted parts of public safety.

In a message shared during EMS Week, Harrison County Emergency Squad thanked its crews for their dedication, recognized hospital and public safety partners for continued collaboration, and expressed appreciation to the community for placing trust in them every day.

This year also marks an important milestone for the organization.

For 60 years, Harrison County Emergency Squad has continued adapting to meet the growing needs of the region through advanced patient care, evolving technology, modern equipment, and expanded treatment capabilities designed to improve outcomes for those they serve.

EMS Week serves as a reminder that emergency medical services extend far beyond ambulance transport. EMS professionals provide lifesaving interventions, connect patients to care, support local events, assist during disasters, and stand prepared every hour of every day.

As Harrison County marks EMS Week 2026, the recognition extends not only to local crews but to EMS agencies and professionals across West Virginia and the nation for their commitment, sacrifice, and service.

When emergencies happen, they answer the call.
