Bridgeport Country Club Golfers Earn Top Finishes at West Virginia Junior Amateur Championship
DAVIS, W.Va. — Four golfers representing Bridgeport Country Club turned in outstanding performances at the 2026 West Virginia Junior Amateur Championship, earning top finishes against many of West Virginia's best junior golfers during the three-day tournament at Canaan Valley Resort.
Alex Randolph and Audrey Kerr each found themselves in championship contention throughout the week. Randolph finished tied for sixth in the Boys 15-18 Championship Division with a 54-hole score of 217 (+1), while Kerr placed third in the Girls 15-18 Championship Division after carding a three-round total of 242 (+26).
Fellow Bridgeport Country Club golfer Carson Higginbotham also earned a top-six finish, tying Randolph for sixth place in the Boys 15-18 Championship Division with an identical 217 total.
In the Boys 12-and-Under Division, Maceo Ryan delivered one of the tournament's most exciting finishes, advancing to a playoff before earning runner-up honors after two extra holes.
Hosted annually by the West Virginia Golf Association, the West Virginia Junior Amateur Championship is considered one of the state's premier junior golf events, bringing together many of the state's top young golfers for three days of championship competition at Canaan Valley Resort.
This year's championship titles were claimed by Tommy Evans of Washington High School, who successfully defended his Boys 15-18 championship for a second consecutive year, and Lexi Green of Capital High School, who captured the Girls 15-18 title in a playoff over Ellie West. Isaac Hutchison finished as the boys runner-up, while Deacon Delaplain claimed the Boys 12-and-Under championship following his playoff victory over Ryan.
The championship once again showcased the depth of Bridgeport Country Club's junior golf program, with four local golfers posting top finishes and competing alongside many of West Virginia's best junior players. Their performances continue to highlight the strength of junior golf in North Central West Virginia.
