Bill Flanigan Sworn In as West Virginia Supreme Court Justice

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Bill Flanigan was officially sworn in as a justice on the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals during a ceremony held in the Supreme Court Courtroom.

Justice Charles Trump administered the oath of office, formally welcoming Flanigan to the state's highest court.

Flanigan joins the Supreme Court following his recent election and now begins service on the five-member court, which serves as West Virginia's court of last resort and oversees the state's judicial system.

The swearing-in ceremony marked the official start of Flanigan's tenure on the bench. According to the court, formal public investiture ceremonies are planned in the near future to further commemorate the occasion.

Flanigan's addition to the Supreme Court comes as the court continues to address cases and legal matters affecting communities across West Virginia.

Additional details regarding future investiture events are expected to be announced at a later date.
