A Slice Of NY Squared Wins Two Awards At Taste Of Harrison County
Members of the A Slice of NY Squared WV team display their awards for Best Sandwich and Best Pizza following Saturday’s Taste of Harrison County in downtown Clarksburg. The business, owned by Rick Johnson, was the only entrant to win two categories during the competition.

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A Slice of NY Squared WV took home two awards Saturday during the second annual Taste of Harrison County, a one-day downtown Clarksburg event organized by the Clarksburg History Museum.

The restaurant was voted Best Sandwich and Best Pizza as local food businesses competed across six categories at Upper Jackson Square.

The Clarksburg History Museum organized the event as part of First Fridays Downtown Clarksburg, bringing together 15 local food vendors for an afternoon of food, competition and downtown activity.

Visitors purchased samples from participating businesses and voted for their favorites, with winners announced at the conclusion of Saturday's event.

Pearl's Parkview Cafe was named Best Dessert, Jacoby's Gas and Groceries won Best Chicken Wings, Hot Dogs LLC took home Best Hot Dog and A.B. Cody's was selected for Best Pepperoni Roll.

The event also served as a fundraiser for the Clarksburg History Museum, which has helped organize First Fridays events and other activities designed to bring more people into downtown Clarksburg.

Taste of Harrison County was part of a larger Saturday lineup downtown that also included a car show, children's activities and the Clarksburg Harrison Public Library's annual used book sale.

The second annual event gave locally owned restaurants and food businesses another opportunity to showcase their offerings while drawing visitors into the heart of Clarksburg.
