30th Annual Cecil Jarvis Greater Clarksburg 10K Set for Saturday at VA Park
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The Cecil Jarvis Greater Clarksburg 10K will celebrate its 30th anniversary this Saturday, June 27, bringing runners and walkers together for one of North Central West Virginia's longest-running road races.
While the event has historically been associated with downtown Clarksburg, organizers have announced that this year's race will once again be held at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center campus and Veterans Memorial Park due to ongoing downtown revitalization and streetscape improvements.
The event will feature both the Cecil Jarvis Greater Clarksburg 10K and the Georgia Hatfield 5K, with participants utilizing the park and rail trail system throughout the race course.
Race-day activities will begin early Saturday morning, with registration and packet pick-up available from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. near the lower baseball fields at Veterans Memorial Park. The 10K race is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K at 8:35 a.m.
Participants are encouraged to pick up their race packets in advance during a special packet pick-up event on Friday, June 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Freedom Shelter at Veterans Memorial Park.
Now in its 30th year, the Greater Clarksburg 10K has become a summer tradition for runners across the region while also supporting charitable causes in the community. A portion of 10K registration proceeds benefits Mountaineer Food Bank programs serving Harrison County students.
Organizers are encouraging runners to register before race day and help celebrate three decades of one of the region's premier running events.
Additional race information and registration details are available through the Greater Clarksburg 10K registration page.
